When mum lived in Co Durham the collies on the farms were nearly all what I would call a traditional border, black and white, small and with a lot of coat.
I was thinking about this, and I bet a lot of those dogs would have been related. If your neighbour had a cracking litle bitch and bred from her you can imagine lots of siblings ending up in the immediate area.
