Border Collies

Beautiful dogs. I don’t seem to be able to post photos anymore 🙁

Here you go ... your collies :)

Thank you so much WorkingGSD. Pup is currently sleeping in car after being unofficial meeter and greeter at the Eden project entrance. He behaved impeccably, even in the busy visitor centre shop, walking at my heel and sitting every time I stopped, no stress at all...I’m so proud!

No wonder! Beauty, brains and good manners - what more could you possibly wish for :)

Another thread of wonderful dogs! I do love collies, but after helping out on my friend's farm with lambing, I know I could never have one as a pet, my lifestyle just wouldn't make them happy! So beautiful though.

Absolutely loving these photos.

Oh wow ester, I love dotty dog. So beautiful.

This is just the best thread. Though I'm having to work really hard at remembering that I don't need another dog right now...

Oh I won't mention that only 2 of these 4 have been taken then *walks off whistling nonchalantly*

I think if your first or main experience with collies is as working sheep dogs then it really does show an insight into their character and energy levels that is a real eye opener.

Dave is my project. He is coming up to three years but is a late maturer and seems to lose his head around sheep at the moment. He can be a sensitive soul and is scared of gunshot, thunder etc and so needs a more patient handler - cue where I come in. Lambing is almost upon us and so any sheep training will have to wait until the summer but I am trying to introduce him to more of the world than just around the farm. He detests travelling though - so that is also proving challenging.

He has a super sweet nature though and loves people and other dogs, so fingers crossed he can eventually become a useful member of the working team too.

And his decorated father - former Scottish National Champion and Scottish Driving Champion who he has certainly taken after in looks, if not in talent (yet!).

Toby was wonderful, I remember when you lost him, he really broke your heart. I'm not sure on the breeding lines, I'm a bit of a dolt with that sort of thing.

WGSD, Dave is a very handsome beast.

True, I still miss him, he was the best. I love having my Wolf in my life too, but I'd have loved it more if he and Toby had been here together. Much as I'm sure you feel the same about yours.

Dave is fabulous - super photos!
