Hi can anyone give some advise on my border terrier?
I have two borders, they are brothers and are 5 this year. They are very loving healthy boys and
usually have a great relationship. About a month ago the smallest of the two, Rex, has started to
growl at Baxter (the bigger dog), when he is getting in the car to go out for a walk. Once Baxter is in the car and the door is closed he stops. The same thing happens again when we are returning from the
walk. He then tries to stop him from getting out of the car when we arrive home and growls badly until
they have had their breakfast ( which I get ready when we get home from walking).
Does not do it any other time nor to any of the family.

Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

PS Baxter is castrated Rex is not.

If it is sudden, take him to the vet and rule out a pain or medical issue.

Entry and exit points (doorways, gateways etc) and shared meal areas are often sources of conflict so I would look at how you manage them.

If you can I would be placing them in and taking them out of the car separately and under your control and keeping them separated when it comes time to feed.
