I have a Border Terrier called Dot,

I brush her most days but her face is really hairy and i think the hairs get in her eyes and make them sore. I don't like to pluck them out but people say thats what you should do can I use scissors?

We have a border called Teddy

, he also has a hairy face but I don't cut it so prehaps Dot's is even more hairy

, I think you can just give it a small trim with the scissors but not too much

Oooo! I love Border Terrorists - Teasel my BT is hand stripped twice a year, I confess to trimming his eye brows with scissors between tidy ups. Otherwise he gets little "eye bogeys" caught in the long hair. Personally I prefer them hand stripped but I know a lot of people who clip them, and they look fine. Hope that helps.

my little BT is 12 and has never been bothered by the hair around his eyes.

I spent years hand stripping 4 borders by hand twice a year. Now I clip them. I have always finished off trimming the sensitive areas with scissors.
