The acquafers levels are well down, the farmers are pulling huge amounts of water - 50% more than normal - and the domestic demands are huge.

How do I find out if we are ok - or on the ‘iffy’ list for water security. How well is it managed.

I will never complain about wet Summers again. Promise ?.

I'm SE and we pumped up a tank full on Saturday and it smelt pretty sulphurous. All my water butts are empty now so I'm keeping everything crossed for rain because transporting water from home is a nightmare

Our yard is on a bore hole and have asked people not to waste water (lot of buckets left overflowing when being filled etc) I am taking up large containers of water from home to soak my hay and taking up containers of iced water for wash down.

We are in East Anglia - and we have only had 1 day of rain since April!
Then yes you are on the iffy list. Norfolk and Suffolk particularly are at risk and are under drought protection plans.

Not much you can do really other than try and find new sources of water, bring it in from somewhere else, desalinate or pray for rain.

We are on a bore hole and went down an extra 20 metres to avoid fingers crossed this problem. I am however going to have a little panic about it now though … what if we run out !!!
