So we have a Leonberger, he's called Lordi who has had quite big surgery on his leg about 6/8 weeks ago. Operation went fine, had to stay in house for 3 weeks (and out in garden) without / running as little as possible. After this he was on 6 weeks of lead walks (only 10 mins at a time) .. we walk him 3 times a day and this does seem to be enough otherwise he becomes lame.
So he went back for his 8ish weeks xrays, they have shown that during the first 3 weeks the femur bone had cracked but is healing itself, so has been put on ANOTHER 6 weeks of lead walks.
I can't help to think that he must be bored out of his brains! what do you do for your dogs? He has his Teddys and bones etc but obviously walks are limited and we have to be careful what he does, any suggestions VERY greatfully reciever, Sorry i've gone on
