I have got one of those red boredom balls for George, it is one of the ones that lets the food out really slowly. The think is George just doesn't get it

he's had it about 6weeks and it always has a fair amount still in it in the morning. I have tried rolling it on the floor every night and getting him to eat the nuts on the floor - no problem, and he knows it has food in it as he gets all excited when I put it in his stable - so is he a bit thick

or just lazy! Don't want to give up on it as it cost £20 and I think it would keep him amused after he'd finished hoovering up his hay in 2 seconds flat!

My Horse was a bit thick at first too

- it took her ages to understand what to do - now she only has to hear it and gets excited and boots it about her stable until its completely empty!!

3 of mine 'got it' straight away and immediately started booting the hell out of it, but my other mare just doesn't! She stands there delicately whickering, licking it, and sniffing the hole where the food comes out.
Very sweet, but as yet she's not been successful in charming the food out of it

My horse loves his food ball. The creates a right racket kicking it about!! Try choping up some bits of carrott and putting some mints in. This drives mind crazy. The smell is stronger and they like the taste better. My horse won't ever eat most of the "treats" availbale on the market from your hand!

Though very quick at most things, Chancer took a bit of working out the ball. What I did was to put it in with the bung missing so they came out very fast - within a couple of days he got the hang of it and I could then put the lid on to slow things down.

Both of mine love their balls, Cairo has a huge equiball - proper size for a clydesdale and was not impressed when he had Chancer's small red ball the other day by mistake.

if you think that is thick, mine cant even get to grips with a stable salt lick, he has 2 up now in different flavours, ive tried rubbing polos onto it, carrots, placing feed on top, the lot. he had to have a proper likit and holder bought instead, which he can do. dread to think what he would do with a boredom ball, may stretch to that at christmas, just for amusement value ah bless!
