Hello
thank you for answering

we do the same evry week and the horses know what will happen next so they do it as soon as she says
like she says forward to walk at C and they all stop when she says it before you do anything

the whole lesson is always the same
walk one way walk the other way weave round cones twice
then same again in trot
like a dance that always has the same steps

we are starting to canter
i didn't because i was scared but my friend does
we all wait in the same corner and the horses get excited because they know what happens now
you trop up and then canter in the corner and round to the back
they do it if you tell them to or not
always in the same place

Do you know if the coach is BHS qualified? This would not pass any of the exams which I took. Maybe have additional lessons at a proper riding school.

Hello
i dont know
wouldn't she have to have exams to get the job?

we thought we could get some ideas and give them to her somehow

we have to go where they do DofE at the moment

last year we learned somethig different na dthey played games and did races to make it fun

we thought we can get a book and post it to her
she must have known how to do lessons once but got bore with it
we think the horses are bored too
my friend said she will win the lottery and buy them and let them go

Sounds like a poor quality beginner lesson to me, sadly.

Are you riding somewhere that has any approval - BHS or ABRS?

This sounds a bit complicated. For your D of E award assuming its bronze you’ve to show commitment to leaning a new sport, it’s usually over about 6 months and you have to show you can stick with it/improve. Have a look on the BHS website, they will have details of approved riding schools etc. It may be that the instructor is worried if you’re also worried about cantering? Or it could be that the R/S isn’t up to the required standard. They’re usually at least one teacher in a school (unless you’re in a big city) who is interested in riding. It may not be the one who is responsible for your course but it’s worth trying to find out and having a chat with her/him.
