I see this as a clear sign of me finally maturing though, a bit like checking your oil and refilling the windscreen wiper fluid etc.

I need a jet wash for the yard (I warned you it was boring 🤣). It has to be very quick and easy to set up, and able to remove the shoulder height shit pats stuck to the walls. So if anyone can recommend one I’d be very grateful.

Karcher ones are decent and very quick to set up, speaking as one who is still damp round the edges from jet washing a water trough half an hour ago!
Damp round the edges .. yes I see this in my future 🤣. I’ll go and have a look now cheers!

Is there somewhere near you that rents them? I've had mine for years and only really use it for a week a year and it seems to constantly be breaking on me 🫣 I often feel it would be more worth it to just rent one for that time and know it would work well!

I second that. We had a couple of Karcher heavy duty ones for the gateman and labourer on site and used it as a wheel wash for the delivery trucks leaving site. It was brilliant and they never let us down once.

Really need to use it on a regular basis. The stables are very stinky and the lorry is also filthy, but things come to my place to break 🤣.

I think I need to go for the heavy duty one as tempting as a cheaper one is!

Been using a heavy duty Karcher one for years with no problem. Just make sure there is no water left in it over winter in case it freezes. I wrap mine up in blankets just to be safe.

Thats fair enough! I just do one massive clean in the end of august and endure the rest of the year 🤣

I saw a horse advertised in ireland ages ago, horse described as bombproof - pics showed horse withstanding a power washer jet! I was horrified, ive accidently blasted myself and it burns! How that horse stood there and took it…😳

Agree with others, karcher are good. The first domestic karcher we had broke, cause unknown - then we got another model up, more powerful, and has been fine.
You can also get engine driven petrol ones for a few hundred secondhand that’ll be commercial super-duper powerful.

Just make sure that what you want to wash is suitable
We melted a brick stable wall causing many problems
Oh my god!! I’ve ripped a good turnout rug thinking I could clean it over a fence but a stable wall is crazy!
Was it one of the huge steam cleaner types, like the diesel ones?

The one thing about taking lambs to the abattoir that I enjoyed was power washing the trailer out. Used to end up soaked by the water bouncing off the trailer walls. The nozzle on those wasn't too obvious about which side the water came out. Once blasted myself in the face, that was fun.

We've had two Karcher ones over the last 20 years. The first we killed by leaving it outside on a frosty night. It's replacement seems to intend to live for ever. We use it to clean the cow shed & it copes well with that. (And you can build houses out of dry cow muck!)
