Boris wouldn't have been my 1st choice, but then with only him and Ken in the running, London had rather limited options!!!

Nothing like allowing for differing views, is there?
Frankly, I find your language more offensive than Boris Johnson, and that's actually how democracy works? People in London vote for their mayor, without actually consulting people from Southampton/Ruislip/Aylesbury?
Just a pity the countryside can't vote for people to run it effectively without reference to all the idiots in Westminster.

Personally, if I lived in London, I would have voted for a chimpanzee if I thought it would get Livingston out of office.

Give the guy a chance. He's going to have a lot of work to do, not least dismantling the Lefty dominated infrastructures left behind by the previous incumbent. My brother who is a totally non party political animal (unlike me, I'm a Conservative Councillor) was absolutely sick to the back teeth of Ken Livingstone. He lives in WC2.

Did you have a vote Danny K, Ruislip is a London Borough isn't it (a few years since I was involved in anything in London...)

has beaten "Red" KEN F*****G LIVINGSTONE....

Great news isn't it???

Another nail in the coffin that is, WAS, Noo Laybor!!!!

Goodness, is it, I thought it was much more suburban, just goes to show how long it is since I went near the Metropolis.
In which case I apologise for suggesting that it was not Danni K's affair, though not for objecting to the tone of the post.
Do you think the *s make it less of an unpleasant thing to say?

Sorry guys, didnt mean to cause offence with my language, i hope you will forgive me! Its just i came back home (ruislip) from uni (southampton) to see my horse (aylesbury) and was in shock at the results! i really dont like Ken and wanted him out but at the same time didnt want Boris in...a no win situation!!

Yes Ruislip is in the London Borough of Hillingdon...so did my vote by post, as i wasnt around!!

I really hope he will do good...and i can be proven wrong...but im not holding my breath

Very rude to ask, but given the limited options.............Who did you vote for?

haha its quite alright, i dont get funny about it, but i am going to get grief for it: Ken Livingstone! Now to explain...I dont really like his policy etc, but voting for anyone else would have been a wasted vote in my eyes...so it was Ken *runs and hides*

Although it doesnt matter anymore...i hope Boris pulls his finger out!!

I was actually at City hall last night when it was announced - its just down the road from me. I am Pro-Boris, the only thing that worried me was that a member of the BNP got a seat, and all of the BNP cronies were there!

And if he recinds the congestion charge, will he still be a *****idiot?
No-one could be worse than Ken Lizard Livingstone, creepy, self serving slimeball he appears to be..
What sort of man would charge someone £250 to get their horsebox to their yard?
he almost decimated the visitors coming to London because a coach bringing tourists into the city gets charged a fortune.
That's a tax on the tourists who pay of around £20 a day each.
So sorry I think Boris will actually do ok, his Dad stood locally but didn't win but he and B seemed sensible and knew their stuff when I met them.

None of them are great candidates, but IMO Johnson is the best one. Hopefully he'll have a good policy on crime. It's what we Londoners really want, and need. Give him half a chance, and I think he'd be quite good.

Well if that isn't a total joke I don't know what is! And I might remind us that he is indeed a conservative.................

Yay, I'm glad Boris won as the lovely routmasters should be back

Never liked Ken Livingstone, transport prices have been getting higher and higher since he's been mayor.
