On Saturday, I took Spyder, a 15.2 Welsh x Hannoverian that I have just got in to sell, to Bromyard to do the Elementary freestyle.
I have to say it was slightly embarrasing at first to be trotting around the warmup doing pony club kicks trying to whizz up what looked like a scary thellwell pony!
The class was particularly hot, I was the lowest grade rider, and the other horses where in comparison beautiful, leggy and elegant. I have to say I felt like most of the other riders where looking slightly down their noses at me, which I suppose couldnt be helped given they where all on 17hh warmbloods!!
Anyway I was first in, and although I did need to use a few pony club kicks in the arena to keep Spyder motivated, he did a lovely test (thanks to AP for putting together FAB music which included the final countdown and the ski sunday music).
I was very surprised to see that we actually came 2nd in the class with 72.91%!!
I was chuffed to bits as the horse that won was 2nd at the Winter championships last year, and it was Spyders best ever score!
I will never look down my nose at cobs again!!
