Born-again Rider

That is brilliant. I dont have my own horse either. But I have had a wonderful 20 years as an RS rider or sharing. In my early years (i.e. I was in my 60s) I rode twice a week, a lesson and a hack, and went to several different RSs to hack different routes. The trouble is (my experience) is that one becomes very attached to a RS horse and may hack it several times a week for years and years which is almost like having one's own. So not being able to afford one's own, pales into insignificance.
I wish you some very happy horse time and riding.

Thanks so much for the inspiration - and I know what you mean about getting attached to RS horses ??.

Hello BB and welcome!
I had a 40 year gap from and had my first proper lesson aged 62.
Glad you have a RS you are happy at! I’m another who is far too attached to a RS horse, even the staff say he is mine ?. I’m blessed to be able to spend 3 mornings each week with him, riding then grooming and massage, it’s heaven.
