Borrowing or Stealing?

It is possible that the YO is owed a lot of livery money and thinks if she keeps them there she may get her money but there is no defense to allowing someone to steal she should provide secure lockable areas for individual liveries if she doesn't want the tackle the problem owner
 
Check in the Newbury Weekly News and see if you can lease a field. There's often fields available for lease on the large estates around your area although it might be a bit late in the season to get the lease on them for this year.
 
How many horses are there on the yard? The YO is obviously gutless as has been mentioned but possibly if all liveries who have had things stolen get together & go together & speak to the YO then something may happen. If the YO stands to lose more if you & the other victims leave than if the thief leaves with her 3 then they may change their mind & take action.

For a YO to tolerate someone openly stealing from other liveries is really strange, possibly there is something between them that you don't know about? If the YO doesn't sort bthis out anyone that leaves the yard will spread why they left & it's not a very good reputation for a yard to have. The YO may eventually find it hard to fill vacancies with the thief still there & still stealing.
 
Today I found somewhere to move to so went to speak to the YO and her OH and she has asked me to stay. The owner who "borrowed" has gone and so has her friend. The YO said that she had not wanted to say anything before but she had asked other owners what they were missing and it seems that as a whole those two owners have taken a great deal. She admitted that she has lost a lot of money because they have not paid their livery bills for the last 2 months. But she did say that she has informed the police of their "borrowing" but hadn't wanted to stir more trouble on the yard. She did say that she would be very upset if I Left and so would the other owners. So I don't think I will be moving now. Hooray!
 
What a brilliant result! So please the YO saw sense and kept the liveries who weren't causing trouble! All too often it is the ones who have been wronged that have to leave :(
