A Borzoi lives near here and is walked on the shore. I have never seen it off lead and the owner doesn’t come near anyone. I just hope she has a big garden to let it stretch it’s legs.
Now I come to think of it, someone in my village had one years ago. He was quite a sweety, very gentle but as I remember, rather dim! ?

I think I’ve only ever seen one Borzoi in the flesh.
I remember reading a book when I was a child which featured a Borzoi (I think) called Karmenka.

I saw my first IRL Borzoi (Borzois? Borzum?) a few weeks ago - was walking through town, rounded a corner, and a bloke was walking a matching pair of pure white ones. Not ashamed to admit that I stopped dead and stared at them going past, they float rather than walk, they’re enormous, and they look like mythical beasts. Truly stunning dogs.

We had 2 Borzois at our boarding school. They were utterly delightful though huge and very, very speedy when running free. A friend has one too and he is a sweetheart. I am not sure they are hugely brainy but who needs brains when you have such glamour?!! I would love one tbh but really too big and have been there and done that wrt sighthound stress!! It is surprising that the breeder hasn't taken her back and it is a sad situation for the dog who probably does need someone with breed or related experience.
