Sorry had to go out and missed you reply to my post of where to look and you were the only reply. I'm beginning to think I'm on everyones ignore list. Thank you for answering but no it wasn't racing. It's just that when I was 16 I worked as groom at a place that had brood mares. One day when everyone had gone to a show, their prize thoroughbred who was early I was told was in the field and I saw that the bag with feet were hanging out so I bought her in away from the others and put her in the stable. I had no idea who the vet was I'd only been there a week so I went into the house searched there telephone book and found the vets, rang and was told the vet was already out on an emergency and would come as soon as they had finished. So all I could do was watch (didn't have mobiles then) It was about 11am in the morning and she had the foal about 30 - 40 mins after bringing her in. Anyway the whole line were called Show ?? whatever and I was just wondering if there was anyway of looking on the internet to find any history of her foal who was called Show Day as he was born on the day of the Newark and Notts show. I felt privilaged to watch her being born and after watching one on the video cam recently it bought back the memories. But I have no idea of how to find any info or what to look under. I do know that when they bought the mother Show Time they paid the most ever paid for a 3 month old because of her Sire and Dame. Don't know who they were .

Any help to point in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

There was a Show Time in 1973 but that was Dames name and Show Day was born around then nothing showing on any of them site.

But thanks Eaglestone. It wasn't being bred for racing I don't think or though I suppose they may have sold it for that later. As you see other than Bossanova you're the only one who's answered. Must have upset a couple Oh dear.

Ha ha ha ... I don't think so, you wouldn't know how to upset anyone

I have an interest in Thoroughbreds as I have a very smart one, who did race, but those sites, apart from the Racing Post were not just for TB's and racing

If I can help in any other way you know where I am

Have you considered that your question was a rather specific one and most people wouldn't have the answer for you

Bet lots of people looked at the thread, I know I did, but I had nothing to tell you as I wouldn't know myself!

You could always contact the stud you worked at and ask them - TBH without knowing the Sire of the mare in question (or the foal) it is hard to come to any answers - names can be changed too.

Good luck with your search tho!
