Has anyone else had this problem?

The other day I noticed some white hairs on Barons back

First thought was the saddle, but the rub was at the bottom of his withers actually on his spine (saddle rubs are usually either side of the spine)

Got saddle out and took numnah off, got someone to sit on it and the saddle went no where near where the white is (and a small rub) and had a good clearance right along the spine.

So I was totally baffled, until I put his bossy bib on. The rub is exactly where the bib ends. It has a seam along the edge which I am thinking is rubbing him. He has it on with all his turnout rugs but in the last 4 weeks hes had a heavier turnout rug on which may have put more weight on the bit of the bib that seems to be rubbing.

I am so upset as he had no white on his back before this

I have to use a bib as he rubs really easily on his shoulders. Any ideas of how I can stop the rub?

I am getting the saddler out just incase and for the time being I have taken the bib off and I am using a poly pad.

I was thinking about that too

He is easily rubbed, all his rugs rub him. I just cant see it being anything else as nothing goes there. There is a definate rub so it cant be the saddle

You could try one of those lycra bibs that has no seams.

Do you mean the shires ones that have a clip thing around the belly? I had one of those but it didnt work.

What a shame if it is the bossy bib..I have tried loads of different bibs as my horse gets rubbed by everything on her shoulders and found these to be brilliant.
I do also have a weatherbeeta bib which seems quite good. It is very soft, silky lycra, goes quite far back beyond withers and does up in girth area with velcro underneath. It may be an option to try. Something else I have done is sew silk into things to stop rubbing (well, I didnt actually sew it, a friend did!!).
Good luck...I know how frustrating it can be to try to stop rubbing.
