So after moving to a new yard a few weeks ago I have had this lovely pony. Until today, for some reason my pony is now the boss of the herd (theres only him and a 17hher) and 2 mares the other side of the fence.

He is herding the 17hher away from the mares, bullying him etc. Being a horse so not a problem.

The problem is now hes the boss and in charge he's on full alert for danger and problems, and he has become difficult to control on the ground again.

He also tried to kill the stallion through the fence walking back to the yard today, although hes normal not bothered by them at all, and usually says hello with no issue.

any ideas on what I can do about this behaviour, I took him for an hours walk in the dually, but all that did was upset everything else on the yard.
