...by bringing home firewood! (His choice, nothing to do with me, he wanted THAT stick)

I have never had a dog that HAS to have something in his mouth at all times like him. Nothing is safe, cats, other dogs, boots, plastic plant pots (his favourite) tyres, logs, whatever he can get his chops around, he is terrified of squeaky toys though. The other GSD is a hoarder and collects trophies, piles them in her bed and tries to hatch them, tonight there is a baseball hat, a bone, a feedbowl, a manky glove, a scrap of leather and something unidentifiable but fluffy.

What do your dogs carry about with them?

I can just imagine him trying to get through a doorway with that

Jack likes to carry his cuddly toy ferret round with him, which means 99% of the time it's soggy...

My poodle carries plastic bottles -- though he seems to outgrown that in favour of my socks (if he can get in to the laundry)! I keep finding them out on the back garden lawn!

Anything he can get his gob round in the house, trousers, the duvet, the cushions off the sofa, his toys, absolutely anything!

Outside of the house, if it's dead or dying, he will have it in his gob, anything else isn't worth bothering with!

Haha, class picture!

I would LOVE for B to want to hold on to things for longer than five seconds - his attention span is so bloody short I throw things, he chases them, picks them up then says: WOW! What's that over THERE? Sod the ball, I'm having that instead. I love my stick. WOW! What's that? Stupid stick, I want the leaf. This leaf is brilliant. WOW! There's a paper bag! Leaves are boring....' etc.

We can't actually progress any further with obedience qualifications because the next level entails retrieving three different sizes of dumbells over obstacles. Trying to get him to focus on one thing at a time is hard enough!!!!

Great picture, I love watching them when they have a stick like that trying to work out how to get through a narrow doorway. Not so funny when they run past and swipe you behind the knees though

Evie has a collection of footballs (all punctured needless to say) she gets very frustrated she can't fit them all in her mouth at once. The others are very into collecting windfall apples at present, Buffy lines them up in her bed, then eats them.

twins?! Boston is EXACTLY like that, runs to retrieve something and his nose stops, the rest of the body skids to a halt and he's off after a butterfly, or a bug. He's a brilliant tracker, just can't concentrate. he is 3 now and training has not progressed beyond, 'sit', 'stay', 'come' and 'in' because he doesn't do treats and can't remember what I wanted him to do anyway. He's a happy dog though and has a nice big voice, so, he does his job.

GSD thing?

My other one is as sharp as a tack, but a worrier, if I have to raise my voice to recall her she slinks back on her belly as if she's going to get a beating (I think she probably did before we had her)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Henmeister

It must be

I am starting to track with B, he is quite good at it because he is such a starvo and he knows he is going to get fed at the end

My female is a bit like that too, she has SO much potential to train because she has so much energy and is smart, but if she doesn't like doing something she either runs away or hits the deck, haha.

Good job they are awesome pets, first and foremost

My dogs are not allowed to chew any household items
tongue.gif
When i get my puppy im sure that will change! If our dogs are given chew toys they HAVE to be given one each... in seperate rooms. They are the best of mates usually, but the border loves his grub and will happily kill the Rhodesian to protect the chew toy
crazy.gif
Problem is that the Rhodesian is genuinly lazy and cant even be bothered to chew the chew toy so she leaves it lying around for mr piggy to find. If she dares to walk over to him and sniff anywhere around the precious chew toy area.... she could lose a limb.
