Going to try my horse on boswellia as an additional line of defence against his arthritis - the most cost effective options I've found so far are Equs Health and Horse Herbs. However the recommended dose from both suppliers is quite different - EH says 15g daily, while HH says 25-20g daily. I can't see any detailed info on these sites as to exactly what is in the powder that they sell, and tbh I don't know anything about how boswellia powder is produced. Could one be "stronger" than the other? Does anyone use either? If not I may have to do a bit more research and then phone both companies.

Any advice appreciated - thanks.

I used this and gave a heaped 15ml scoop in the morning and again in the evening - he was near on 790kg though. I think 1 x heaped 15ml scoop per day is a normal dose for a 'normal' sized horse

Thanks very much - mine is 15.1 and round about 500kg so based on what you were giving yours, 1 x heaped 15ml scoop sounds good. Did you see a difference after you'd been feeding it for while? If so what exactly made you think it was helping?

I use the Equs Health one, he is 15'2, 476kg. I feed one scoop in the morning and one scoop in the evening. It made a big difference when I first started feeding it to him, this was years ago now. Not sure if it makes a difference now though as he has been on it so long but won't take him off it just in case :-)
I would highly recommend boswellia for animals (horses and dogs) but absolutely not for humans. Worst hot flushes I have ever experienced in my life! About 4-5 an hour, night and day.

Thanks for info re horse - but crikey that's one heck of a side effect in humans isn't it! I assume it doesn't have that effect on everybody....

I feed either the wormers direct version or Feedmark if I find an offer code.

Mine weighs about 730kg and gets 20ml morning and evening.

To be completely honest with you I noticed no difference at all, even on a higher dose, but carried on in the blind hope it was doing something as it was so cheap to feed. It turned out that my horse had many real deep rooted biomechanical problems, so I think his case was more of an outlier than the norm.

Ahh....sorry to hear that :-( Yes, mine is rather more straightforward so I'm hoping it will help.
