Boswellia for arthritis - serrata or carterii or doesn't it matter?

Hello, I suspect my mare has arthritic hocks so have started giving her some Boswellia to see if that will help. She already has a high spec joint supplement with msm, chondroitin, HA and glucosamine at the recommended levels. I will of course involve the vet for joint injections if there is no noticeable change before anyone has a go... but that has its own risks so prefer to try the natural alternatives first. I've always thought Boswellia Serrata was the best but have discovered by chance that the type i've been giving her is actually Boswellia Carterii. The supplier has said it's just as effective but of course they would say that... so does anyone know if there is a difference? Also does anyone know what is the most effective dosage as all different suppliers seem to say different things!

I have a scoop I use, long time since I weighed it to see how much that was which is why I didn't answer that bit.

I use a dessert spoon. Dead scientific! I don’t think it matters if it’s serrata or carterri. Last few times I’ve tried to get it from Rahiiq it’s been out of stock. Currently buying it on Amazon.
