i recently broke my pelvis for the second time falling off my horse and landing on my bum. does anyone know if there is any rider protection for the sensitive bottom area, padded/air jodhpurs etc? any advice would be great thanks!

Ouch, that sounds painful, hope you are healing well.

Try a Heather Moffett seat saver - not cheap, but they really help! You attach it to the saddle with straps under the saddle flaps. Otherwise I've heard you can get padded cycling shorts so could be worth a try?

ditto the HM seatsaver for riding, ultra comfy and last forever so well worth the money!

Slight highjack - just bought one of those (due to recommendations on here

), but how the heck does one fit it to the saddle? Looks a right pile of pickles to me

You just put it on the seat of your saddle, then loop the straps under each saddle flap and do them up. You need to get the tightness (not sure if that's a word!) right or they can end up too far forwards / back.
