Not great pictures but we didn't know we were going puppy shopping when we left home to take some calves to market, otherwise I'd have taken a proper camera.
Passed a farm in next village (we know farmers very well) with a sign saying working border collie pups for sale. Mentioned it to the father in law when we got to Shrewsbury Market as we lost our cow dog earlier in the year, at the age of 18.
He wanted us to look and said he'd like a girl (more loyal for working he says)! So we did and we chose a tri-coloured bitch from the litter. They are five weeks. We will be picking her up on the 24th August as we're away from the 16th - 23rd.
Here she is. Mobile phone couldn't handle all the movement little pups make so picture is blurred.
One of her eyes looks closed up on the picture but it must've been a "moment in time" thing as her eyes were clear and bright and fine when we were there.
We wanted a short and snappy name for her as it's easier to recall them that way when working them. Meg, Tess, Bess, Peg blah blah.
Jill was a front runner (Jack and Jill as old dog was called Jack) but it seems Mollie is edging into the lead......we've never had a two syllable named farm dog!
