Saddler came yesterday.

Bad News - my Amerigo is still not back

Good News - Saddler has loaned me a saddle till mine is ready

Plus we have bought a new saddle for Blitz. After trying on LOADS of saddles including Jaguar, Amerigo, Bates, Passier etc, OH finally decided on an Albion Ultima.

not bad considering we were looking for a changable, mid-priced saddle as he is only 5!

It is second-hand but when I saw it I actually thought it was new. It is in incredible condition and looks lovely (can't wait to have a sit.) We traded in our Olney saddle, which eased the pain slightly and got a good deal, so Blitz is back in action.

Gave him a new haircut today, he is naked for the first time and looks really grown-up.

Thanks for everyone's suggestions regarding saddles.

I think your OH has good taste!! I have the Albion SLK ultima dressage saddle (and my jumping saddle is Albion too) and I really do rate them both!!

I really like Albions too, we have one for Hils but this saddle was supposed to be inexpensive because he is still young and growing! Hopefully this one will still fit him next year.

Sounds great - it could have been a lot more painful on the pocket!

I took my horse up to the saddler today. I took the nearly new Albion K2 dressage saddle that I bought on ebay (which didn't fit) for £500 in part exchange for a new saddle. The saddler offered me £700 for the Albion

and I put £1,000 towards the new one. I got a brand new Jaguar dressage saddle. We tried loads of different types and it really was a close call between the Amerigo and Jaguar, but the Jaguar felt best and fitted my horse like a glove. I couldn't beleive how amazingly free he felt in it - I think his old saddle must have restricted his movement because it was padded right down the front. Still it will do as a spare!
