Bought pony in foal?!!

Pics!! Have attached record of my mares udder development for you. This was 3rd foal so bigger than a maiden would be. Bottom right is the day she foaled. You can see the teats are pointing downwards.

What stage were first two pics? I’ve got a maiden who appears to be starting to bag up - not as much as either of your top two! Just wondering if I need to ask for a vet to check for placentitis 😏

Thank you - I’ve text the vet x
I would- if you catch it early you're in safer territor. Hopefully all is ok and she's just getting prepared nice and early!
Sent my photos to my repro vet - she said we look normal - checked her temp and signs for soreness. She said just keep checking that no milk is running or any other discharge! Glad she will be getting a once over on Thursday but I can relax for a bit longer again 😅 thanks for the advice @TheMule x

i had a similiar experience last week with my maiden. I noticed a slight change, she was about same amount of days too. No discharge, just a slight change. Cue panicked call to vet. Who said the same as yours. Ive never had one do this before. Anyhow, hers have now reduced back to normal. Im wondering if its linked to a flush of grass. My other mare hasnt had any changes at all. But the mare that did is slightly porky. Glad all is well, im just keeping a close eye on her and wishing the days away !

My mare is a “good doer” too! You may be right with the grass theory! Hers are still the same today! Vet said just watch out for mastitis but she seems grand when you give them a gentle squeeze lol! Good luck and happy sleeping - for now 😂😂

So sorry for no updates lifes been crazy busy - Malcolm is a month old today he’s a menace 🤣🤣 but doing great we’re starting to work on getting him used to a halter but he’s not a fan

I’ve always wanted a horse or dog called Malcolm. I really wanted to call the new pup Malcolm but OH wouldn’t entertain it so we compromised on Norman.
