I bought a lightweight turnout and a stable rug for my filly for this winter coming ( just in case we have a totally pants one again! Im going in prepared!!)
Sadly the rugs are a bit long so am going to get smaller tomorrow....

Just wondering if anyone fancies guessing what size she has on and what size she would be better with....;)

Happy guessing :D

I'm guessing the rugs are 5'9" and she needs a 5'3"!

ETA - I would make sure you get them slightly to big for her because if she's anything like my youngster she will grow a lot between now and winter, they'll last longer if you get them a bit bigger then she needs :)

i would hazzard a guess at thats a 6'6 rug & she prob needs about a 6'0. Based on the fact that my yearlings have their bums poking out of the end of 5'6 rugs & with her being a tbXdwb shes likely to be bigger than them! & someone has already said 6'3! :)

Yay!! have some profiteroles and choc sauce :)

Im actually thinking ill hang on to the 6'6" rugs as she is still growing at a rate of knots and by January ( when she will hopefully be needing them) they will fit. If she totally bypasses 6'6" and needs a 7' rug then I can always sell them as new :) I think ill be annoyed if I get her 6'3s and she only wears them a few times before she out grows them.

Mmm profiteroles :) Thankyou!!

I know exactly what you mean about them growing so fast! & i have 3 to rug!! (im a big softie) i bred my boy so have had him since day one & hes gone from a 28" dog rug upto a 5'6 in a year! luckily have some old rugs that they will be inheriting rather than new now :) I have always bought 6" too big tho so i push them for as long as i can in the smaller size & then let them drown for a short while in a bigger size.

Awww! Any pics of your boy in his dog rug??!! bless!

Yep, Ill hang on to them, shes going to make 17hh + so she is more than likely going to need these rugs at some point :)

just off out to feed the neds but will put u a pic up wen i get back in :) mine are only meant to make 14hh, 15.2hh & 16hh, dont think i could cope with another 17hh+ horse being only 5'3 altho my old boy was a saint!

heres the little man :) this was day 2 & his first day in the field. Silly mare decided after 2wks of gorgeous weather to pop hi, out when it was rather windy!

ps soz they are huge!

thankyou! :D
hes 1/2 american paint, 1/4 tb, 1/4 connie. No big names to mention in his breeding as he was bred as a keeper & i knew the stallion owner. I bought a horse from her & fell in love with the stallion.
Hopefully i will event him in the future, but if he decides a different path i will follow it :) Hes full of character & so confident. His only downside is his crazy afro that needs some taming! lol!
Fingers crossed il be breeding from his mum again next year too as she was a superb mother.

ps your filly is very cute :) looks so well grown! & so chilled tied up next to the other horses! dex would be bouncing on the spot no doubt! lol!
