Yesterday, I headed down to my local RC with my best friend, her coloured pony and my OH.
We had planned to do In hand coloured and Ridden coloured but there was a 4 hour gap between them so we did clear round jumping too.
In hand, my friend got 4/4 but Rainbow (the mare) reared and was generally a brat. Really had it on her and had worked herself up.
We were then relegated to the naughty corner so i could ride and burn off some energy. We've discovered this pony loves jumping, cantering on the spot and then going full pelt to the jump. We jumped about 2foot 3/6 which is quite a big deal for both of us. So really pleased.
We then headed to the clear round and jumped about 2foot 6/9 and we flew round. Really enjoyed myself.
And then it was time for the ridden coloured, I've never done a ridden class and neither has the pony. There were 4 in the class and we came in !second! and we even got a trophy!. I was so pleased i burst into tears and did a lap of honour with a trophy and a rosette in my hand wondering how i was still holding on.
My confidence hs come back with some force!
So this pony has lots of potential and hopefully if my friend lets me i want to do some more shows with her over winter, sharing the ride obviously.
I am ridicously proud!
So Jo, if you read this....well done to us both!
