Anyone have any experience of tis breed? One has recently come into my life - not mine and not living with me, but still in my life - and it is HORRIBLE!! Bad mannered, nasty, unpredictable and looks like a giant pube

Sorry, but this one does! I've googled pics and they don't look like this one does in it's coat... Anyway, just wondering, thanks!

We use to have a bouvier - and we had a couple of friends who also had bouviers. They are very protective of their family - not just to the extent of barking if someone tries to come into their house - but they WILL stop someone coming in.

Our bouvier had bad skin and we had to end up clipping him most of the time to keep him comfortable. I am not sure if this is a problem that is common with bouviers. Some of them have very coarse curly hair, and some have much softer "squishy" hair. The softer hair usually looks more presentable - and is obviously nicer to touch.

They are usually very affectionate and loyal dogs - but you would need to work your way into their affections. Either that or the dog that you have come across has had problems in the past. Our boy was slighly simple - but ever so loving and an excellent guard dog.

We had a Bouvier as a family dog when I still lived at home. He was the best dog EVER, we all absolutely adored him- he was loyal, sweet, beautifully behaved, always incredibly stoic, and a complete wuss!

I loved him so much I looked to get another a few years ago but decided no other would measure up to him so went for different breeds instead.
