I put most of my horses in 20acres in winter. Just moved today to different fields for spring grass. Found a bowen arrow stuck rite in ground, a foot in just the end sticking out. Raging that's where my horses be and have been since november. There's 4 numbers on it can I trace owner, going to hand in to police and also get paper to write up how careless and dangerous this is. Also loads of people and children walk there dogs through fields not right of way but just have always done so and ate careful with horses. We just rent it since last 10 or so years. Just disgusted and raging. Want to find its owner.

You won't be able to find the owner directly from the information on the arrow. There are two possibilities: (1) total twonk with no sense of responsibility messing about or (2) genuine archer mis-shot. A Google should throw up any archery clubs local to you and contacting the secretary should get you some way to finding out what happened.

Most archers are very responsible and would be appalled to know this has happened (and I know a few archers).

Give me a shout if I can help further.

Thanks a mill, I don't think aiming at horses just careless but also was not far from roadside so someone could even be walking down road and have got it. Its sooo sharp. I want to draw attention to the danger also my mares where in foal. Would have went straight through as was a foot in the ground. Thanks a mill I know its not archers in general just scared the life out of me. If u seen where it was found really not a safe area to fire an arrow.

No problem, if you need help finding your local archery club let me know and I can ask a couple of friends if they can help. It would be a good idea to let the local club know as someone there might recognise who the arrow belongs to. Telling the police as well wouldn't hurt.

I can appreciate how scary it was. A bow and arrow is a proper weapon and it should have been used with more care even if the arrow arrived accidentally rather than as an act of stupidity.
