Can anyone tell me how this works and how its different to physio or chiro? Considering it for a horse that hasn't responded to other treatments.

evening!
bowen is a gentle, hands on therapy, which treats the horse (or person) as a 'whole' (holistic) by helping to release any muscle spasms, congestion, lymphatic system etc...
it works on the basis that all muscles/fascia are interconnected, so it doesn't treat specific areas... eg a horse may 'show' pain in an area other than the source of the pain (eg if has pain in hindquarters, the way the horse moves will change and tightness could appear further up the body).
chiros work on the bones, physios work on specific areas.
conditions that respond well to bowen:
unlevelness, disunited gait, irregular action
uneven wear of shoes
muscle atrophy, uneven development
stiffness on one rein
'cold' or sore back
sluggish lymphatic system
weak immune system
uncharacteristic change of temperament or performance

Don't want to go into too much detail as not for my horse but it sounds like it might be worth a try for a horse that is stiff through neck?
