Bowl cut

I've messed up. Needed to tidy up my welshies mane as it was very long and out of control. Unfortunately he won't tolerate a rake, so I scissored...
Mane is a bit show jumper but acceptable, the forelock though is dreadful I tried to fix and just ended up with shorter bowl. Any ideas how to fix? Have a lesson on Friday

Take small sections and point cut - scissors facing up in to the mane, just sort of lightly work through it and it will break up the sharp edge

Point the scissors upwards and cut in vertically (a tiny bit at a time) rather than horizontally

My plaiting is even worse than my trimming!
I've already been trimming upwards but I think it's because it's so thick that it looks silly.
