Hi there,
My horse has to do a period of box rest with controlled exercise after an op. This is gradually increasing over an 8 week period. So far we have just completed week 1 and on the whole this was mostly good with only a few explosions when on controlled exercise (mainly today).
I have been toying with the idea of a calmer for him just to maybe take some of his giddiness out of him when he's walking as he was pretty scary with his mahoosive bucks and rears today
Just to give some information...he's a 6yr old warmblood. Before his op he was on turnout in a small field which he coped well with. He has a good routine and is mostly settled in the stable - he has a friend with him if the other horses are out. His friend also comes on his controlled exercise walk at night, but he goes alone am. I walk him in his bridle. He's on haylage and hay when it suits him (but since his op he's gone off his hay). He has some happy hoof, lo cal balancer and fibre beet feed wise.
He also has had some Sedalin in the past for shoeing/clipping and it's not seemed that effective
Anybody out there have any suggestions to any calmers that work as it's a minefield with so many different calmers out there?
Many thanks in advance x
