do they have any brain cells?? I am looking after one at the moment and he is so thick! he lacks any spacial (sp?) awareness and have bruises on my legs from him constanly running into me he just plays with the other dog and crashes into everything. My phone barks (in a not very convincing way) and he spends the next 10 minutes looking for the dog.

He thinks he is a lap dog and trys to sit on your chest or will shove his bum on your lap and put his face on the floor then falls asleep....... oh he snores too (worse than hubby!)

other than that he is sweet - in a really ugly way!

I knew someone who bred them and they seemed to be quite intelligent. The others that I have known are just like you said. My cara can't stand them, they get too much in her face and are too rough for her liking. I think they are nice looking but too ott for me.

quite a few people have said they are intelligent, but this one certainly is not! bless him though he is quite sweet.

The JRT does not like him very much as he is too much in your face but the JRT was curled up next to me on the sofa and the boxer came and sat on him he growled at him but the boxer just sat down anyway and they are both squashed up next to me!

Mine Is the cleverest dog I know he acts like a human and forgets he is a dog most of the time. But having a Gsp as a companion then anything will seem clever as they really are a dog with no brain cells.

I love my Boxer! She is 'intelligent' in that she is very quick to learn, but she is so goofy (that is the only word to describe her!). Yes she crashes into everything, falls asleep with her back legs on the couch front legs on the floor, snores like a trooper and thinks she is smaller than the terrier (who in turn thinks she is a rottweiler!) and of course she is the sweetest girl. I think Boxers are addictive, couldn't imagine life without one now (be warned!)

Vid here of them in all their goofy glory if anyone is interested :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgJYf47yOyM

The majority are in a constant state of puppyness:D they take alot longer than the average breed to grow up:p and some do come across as brain dead but they are indeed very crafty;) they are clumsy in play but are a laugh a minute, one dog that will cheer you up in an instant with their clown like behaviour:D

Agree with them being addictive, even with all the health problems. We lost our first Boxer to heart problems and took a while had a few other breed and something was missing. Mine gets excited when he goes to the vets (which is a lot ATM) and heads straight to the cupboard which they keep the treats and sits and gives paw.

My childhood boxer is my all time favourite dog, loved her.

A mate of mine got knocked over by his as he was running along looking at another dog. It broke his femur , he still loved his dog though :) and learnt to pay more attention to him when approaching at speed :D

Goofy? How dare you? :D
