I'm shattered so I'll only post a brief report... We arrived at about 11.40 to the meet, I unboxed Ali straight away so he could settle a bit, there was a fairly big turnout as a lot of people from a neighbouring pack had come out with us as their Boxing Day meet is usually useless... We got off to a brilliant start jumping rows of logs, there was then a nice little hedge which Ali and I flew over quite stylishly I must say as I was hailing a cab
There was a photographer from Irish Hound & Horse magazine out with us today, and he took a load of photos of various people jumping and standing around... so fingers crossed a photo of Ali and I jumping gets in it
There was one part where we had to gallop down a very steep hill and over a brush fence with a thick pole above it, and then down over a fairly small hedge type fence... A lot of horses stopped there as there was a large crowd of people on the other side taking photos, but Ali leapt over it, which I didn't expect and was left behind... Not stylish at all!
We then did a few more logs, ditches, and hedges... At one stage a girl in front of me asked if I would mind removing a branch from her horses tail, and she said that she didn't kick... I KNEW the horse was a complete b*tch who lashes out quite a lot, so very carefully I tried to grab the branch, and the bl**dy cow lashed out at me, and fortunately only caught her shoe against my toes... It was a fantastic day, plenty of jumping and galloping around and not too much standing around which suited Ali down to the ground
I was at the front all day with him and I'm over the moon with how well he behaved
I'm just about to upload some photos from today onto Photobucket, Dad followed us out so there are a few fairly good photos of Ali and I in action!
