Boxing Day racing

It did look like he accidentally got her mouth and that made em both loose momentum and Banbridge took that to go

What a race wow

Some very inexperienced and keen horses at the start at Fontwell. Jack Tudor did a super job on a very unsettled horse and went on to win.

Apart from being obviously a great flat jockey he was also on the Ireland eventing team at the pony europeans! He's definitely a muti-discipline horseman.

My abiding memory of Joesph is him riding a G1 winning flat filly who wasn't known for concentrating too well (tended to idle and look about her), schooling her over ditches to try get her mind on the job again and having some fun. Aidan has always been good with quirky ones.

Did anyone see the last at Kempton? I know both Nico and HC were disadvantaged but to pull up and not take part? I’m surprised they didn’t get a slapped wrist at least. Allowing that I’m not a steward!

Race 6 - 3:40pm
THE LADBROKES GET REWARDED WITH LADBUCKS HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 3)

An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the start of this race. The Starter, Harry Cobden, the rider of EMAILANDY (IRE), which was pulled up and Nico de Boinville, the rider of DODDIETHEGREAT (IRE), which was pulled up, were interviewed and shown recordings of the start. The starter reported that MAHONS GLORY (IRE), unplaced, was proving difficult at the rear of the field and he was waiting for the gelding to become attached to the other runners, this caused a delay in effecting the start of the race and as a result, when the start was effected, EMAILANDY (IRE) ducked violently left-handed as the tapes were released, causing DODDIETHEGREAT (IRE) to come to a standstill and as a result both runners lost considerable ground at the off. The Stewards were satisfied that EMAILANDY (IRE) and DODDIETHEGREAT (IRE) were facing forwards as the start was effected and therefore deemed both to be runners.

Yes I read that. But I can’t see why it was deemed a sensible course of action. The punters lost their money either way.

Just caught up on the racing - thrilled that CH won and I had the second and third in the King George, so a reasonably profitable day as well!

Hoping that Fontaine Collonges wins tomorrow in the Welsh National and also the lovely Freyo Banbou

You have got to admire the French horse, they had a plan and it nearly worked. Will have won a good amount in prize money in second though. Good to see Venitia's horse come in third.
