Hi all,
Dreaded spring grass coupled with a broken grass muzzle has caused low-grade laminitis in my gelding. Caught it straight away and stuck him on box rest.
He is getting well-soaked hay but isn't drinking much at all, we are worried as his pee has gone quite thick and his poos harder. So we need to get more water into him!
However him having a touch of lami, what would be the best safest way to get his bowels going?
Oil?
Apple or carrot juice?
Rosehip tea?
Bran?
I thought about getting him some Allen and Page fast fibre as that's very lo calorie and wet too.
Thanks in advance!
Any other ideas?
