This is for all those poor members here who have horses that are currently on boxrest. How did it go today???
Well, to start it off - just one sentence could explain everything: If looks could kill!!! Failing that, she really tried to do so with the use of teeth and all four feet!!!
So I gave her a sachet of GlobalHerbs Instant SuperCalm but OH wanted to get back home asap and so did not want to wait the 60 min. it takes for the stuff to kick in. We only have one car at the moment - which I can't drive as I'm not yet on the insurance, so I had to oblige, and I actually had to hand-walk her in the state that she was in.
She was fizzy straight away and seemed really mad at me. She gave me those looks... you know, when you can see the whites in their eyes, with their head held up high and looking down on you! Then, she tried biting me several times with her mouth wide open (not nibbling, but really viciously wanted to bite, again with her eyes wide open), following which she would quickly turn and try striking out with her front feet. She also tried rearing, but thank God wasn't too successful today. She did two rounds in the school without trying to do anything, but just when I thought she calmed down, BITE-BITE-STRIKE-STRIKE.
OH didn't know what I was dealing with until I passed her on to him for a good minute or so, and he realised what I had to deal with.
Seriously, try dealing with a horse like that for 30-40 minutes in the school. I felt like I was in the boxing ring!
