Boy dog owners!

Thanks all. I’ve doesn’t hardly ever groom himself down there! And as far as I’m aware no prickly action either.

I thought ‘gosh that must be sure!’ But he has no trouble weeing at all
Ah well off to the vets it is!

What are we supposed to be looking at? Male dogs often have pinker skin (especially white/thin skinned/short haired dogs), warts/skin tags, pigment patches down there.
It does look quite pink so he has probably been over-licking it. I swear by a skoosh of Botanica 5-in-1 for all grooming and minor irritation needs. (I wouldn't spray it directly on the nether regions, maybe into the air above the floor and have him walk through it if you know what I mean.)

Sorry corvuscorax. Terrible pics. It’s like a scab really. As if it’s had a little bleed then scabbed over. But he’s not at all bothered with it and I’ve never seen him licking himself down there at all. (Maybe that’s the problem!)

I’ll book the vet and let you all know.

So. Vets next Tuesday. ?. First appointment I could get. I’ll bathe it in the meantime. Although he’s not bothering about it st all which is what puzzles me. You’d think it would sting!

Unbelievably years ago our Lab x Collie got a fair sized piece of wood jammed up the side of his man bit after a foray into some undergrowth. OH heard a shriek and dog shot out but on examination appeared unscathed. It was only when we saw him unable to pee that the vet was immediately called.

I don't recall the details but the piece of wood still has pride of place in a specimen jar.

I hope yours gets better soon and I think I would have made a vet's appointment as well.

Ok vet seen. Its all to do with puberty apparently. I'm to keep an eye on it and bathe as necessary.

Vet also checked his teeth (small baby tooth causing a small problem so he pulled it out: it was almost out anyway but being impeded by the adult tooth) and his ears as final teething can cause ear problems and Rocky has been yelping when scratching his ears. They're slightly inflamed so he has drops for those

Who knew boy puppies were so very different to girl puppies!
