Hello! I'm an American mom seeking advice from my UK brothers and sisters who are mom and dads of boy equestrians. In America, there is a severe lack of boy equestrians. It is a very female dominated sport here, which is great, but makes buying proper riding clothing for my son immensely difficult. He is just 11, so not quite old enough for tall boots and breeches. He is average sized - not fat, but not skinny, just -- you know, average. 77cm / 30.5" waist and a 69cm / 27" inseam. For the past 4 years, I've been buying him girls riding tights, and he thinks they are comfortable, but its becoming harder and harder to find appropriate pants for him as he is growing into a young man. He still has another year of showing in Jods, so I have to find a solution for him. For some reason, the only brand I've found that is offered here in boys Jods in Ovation, and their biggest size Jod, which is an American 16, is literally equivalent to street size 3 sizes too small, but I love the look of the 4 pockets.

I am willing to purchase and have delivered to America. I'd love to buy used, but willing to buy new. The same goes for breeches/riding pants. I'd love to find him something to wear for lessons - this can be stretchy and neutral colors. He has a pair of adult small that he's been wearing, but they don't quite fit just right. I look forward to the time when finding clothes for him gets easier!! Pic of the young and best pony for reference. All help would be MUCH appreciated!!

My riding instructor (man) wears Ariat or Mark Todd mainly.

There is a good online shop here called hope valley saddlery they have a good selection and often lots in the sale.

Ebay is the site for second hand items. I see items advertised which are in the US, so presume you can buy from the UK or mainland Europe. Import duties/taxes may apply.

For new, it will be finding an online site which is fine to ship to the US - maybe there are US based people on here who have ordered from the UK?

My OH has worn John Whitaker as well. I’m not sure about high end or what is currently fashionable amongst teens, but for economically priced basic day to day boys’ jodhpurs I would try Harry Hall or Decathlon. Do check waist sizing though - some of them will only do a height/age range and that might not match US sizing.

Just checked: https://www.redpostequestrian.co.uk...ssex-boys-competition-jodhpurs--beige__185980 and they ship to the US. Size info incomplete though - you may have to email them. They are normally very efficient & I’ve always had good service ordering from redpost.
