For anyone looking for a new BP might I recommend the Airowear outline, I bought it last summer and always liked it but after last night I highly recommend it.

Out on the XC approaching a ‘Scary fence’ my mare threw in a sharp stop and being light of her back and not expecting her stop as we felt good on approach I came out the side door and flew into the fence at such a force I moved it slightly across the grass.

I wasn’t winded though a little out of breath but got back on and the only thing dented was my confidence a little I guess for that session. Anyway this morning my torso feels fine, no bruises, no lumps no aches only to my arms and neck a little but nothing to write home about and I am completely surprised I must say.

So anyone looking for a new BP I would highly recommend this one, it saved me and left me able to ride again today.

That’s all, hope this tried and tested with a fall is useful to someone. :D

Yep, would second the Outlyne - I find mine very comfy to wear as they have a good fitted shape and it's good to know that they are so effective (thankfully I haven't had the need to put mine to the test yet!)

Glad to hear that you got away with no serious injury :)

Glad you're OK. Has madam given you an in depth analysis of her objections to the fence or does she feel her stop was clear enough to make her point ?:D

You said in your original post that you moved the fence when you hit it? So much as its solid its an unfixed fence?
Have a look in competition riders at threads about unfixed fences and the catastrophic consequences of falls jumping them

I see what you mean yes, sorry the fence as a whole was soild but not pinned to the ground no. I knew I had moved it as my friend saw it move and you could clearly see the change in the grass colours as to where it was to where it was moved, only but a few inches.

Come to think of it very few of the fences are permently fixed to the ground but the course is used for BE so didnt really think anything of it.
