I was planning on doing a pleasure ride this weekend but have just had to pay the road tax on my van and am feeling a bit poor. I do really want to go out though so I wondered about taking Daisy to Bradgate park instead. Can I ride there on a Sunday afternoon? How long would you want to spend there? Anyone want to come with me?

I think you have to be out of the park by 1pm and you are not allowed in there on bank holidays. I think there is a number you can ring - sorry I don't have it to hand but maybe you could search it on the web or something?

Have you got a good Ordenance Survey map of the Leics area. We used to box out to a village called Hungarton at weekends - much more rural than Bradgate & some good bridle tracks. Would also recommend the Somerby area as again nice bridle tracks, quiet lanes and Burrough Hill to have a scamper around.

Nearer to Bradgate but far less rural is the Beacon & Broombriggs.
