Brain games for pups

Mine used to love various versions of kibble sprinkled in a towel then rolled and/or tied up and treats under tennis balls in a muffin tin. I also used to save cardboard and paper then make a snuffle box to sprinkle kibble in.

We play find the cheese it's the best for getting some energy out over my lunch break in a short period of time. My garden is on three levels and I've lots of hedging so plenty of places to hide treats. Sometimes I make my OH hide under a bed or in a wardrobe or something and ask her to find him but that's for my own amusement really as my house is not large and there's only so many places to hide him.

Also do the treats in a towel (or sometimes in the carcass of a soft toy she's destroyed) frozen kongs, licky mats. Also trick training really takes it out of her. She doesn't really know many tricks but I try to introduce new ones and she finds learning tiring.

Sometimes if I need a quick fix I'll hide treads in a cardboard box with lots of paper packaging that she enjoys shredding. We've been doing a lot of games lately as she's not allowed off lead walks at the minute and she is very high energy.

Sniffing is fantastic for tiring out those busy brains! Some great ideas in here so far!
If you've just the one dog, you can always feed their kibble by hiding it all around the room, garden etc. Under pillows, behind the sofa, next to plant pots, in empty bottles etc etc.
I only say if you've got one just to be safe and avoid any scuffles at the time, or if one finds a missed kibble and it causes a fight, but then we've got one who is a massive butthole about food (and it's not mine!).

2 dogs, one being a lab gundog. She will probably just lay on the sofa after a busy shooting season whilst pup searches!!
