Shes pretty big and she has bagged up a bit. She also has that yellowy/clear liquid before it turns into proper milk, but sometimes a little voice says 'shes just very very fat'

Then I think don't be stupid........ but i do keep wondering where this baby is!!!

This was her last week-

I know I'm being so stupid but she does look in-foal right?!?! I mean she must be, she was scanned in-foal at 16 and 30 days, she hasn't come into season (and shes one of those mares that is so easy to tell when she is), shes huge and shes bagged up/ has the beginnings of milk.

I know they can go over weeks quite easily, and I have to be patient but you know how it is, panick sets in!

thats a deffo pregnant mare!! my YO's mare was due the start of july and she only had her at midnight tuesday night!! she had chestnut filly!!

Looks good to me

Sadly, foalies tend to come when they want! However impatient we get!

Some mares dont bag up loads, my maiden mare hardly had a bag at all before foaling, is just slightly enlarged now but has never been huge. Any signs of waxing?

I know its so annoying isn't it?!

I just want it out now! lol.

No signs of waxing, but Teazle didn't really wax up either. Like you say, shes a maiden so isn't expected to bag up a lot.

Argh! I hate this waiting game.

She is probably waiting for better weather! I am being serious, horses can hold of foaling to a certain extent. My foals have ranged from 23 days early to 19 days late this year! I wouldn't panic! She sounds like it could be sooner rather than later from what you have said
grin.gif

NG only had to sit up one night this year, I told her when to sit up all night rather than just checking on her, just from her description on the phone and I didn't let her down, her foal arrived totally when I said it would!

(OK i'll own up I used to own the mare and know her inside out....i'm not really the mystic meg of the foaling world)

Lol good job too as DH and my mum dont know I've got her!! She was a star though and everything went exactly as HG said! Though I was annoyed she managed to get Kali out without me seeing in a 1/2 hour slot!

Fingers crossed it will be soon for you, remember to post pics!!

Jazz was overdue by a week or so

Foaly had bent legs when she came out and they took a while to sort themselves out, but fine now, and kicks like a minx

I was wondering where your other foal had got to! Like the others, I'm certain he or she is still hanging on in there - if she's not in foal she's eaten an elephant!

Our maiden NF mare was 25 days beyond 11 months from covering (one romantic date with the vet by AI so I'm sure of the due date if you can call it that). She hardly bagged up and it was only when milk ran I knew foal would be on the ground soon and sure enough that night, out popped Poppy.

Good luck and keep us informed!

Oh Claire, honestly don't worry. Foaly will come when s/he is ready. Yes I would say she is definitely in-foal and don't forget that my little Cloud foaled 15 days over her "average due date". I would say if anything is holding this baby back it will be the weather you are having - it was the same for us; our little Legacy only came once the weather heated up.

Incidentally, my other mare, Golden, who is due some time in August has already started to lightly bag up however I am not holding my breath about her foaling early. I just keep checking on her and am going to start photographing her ladies bits so that I can better judge. I have continually been anxious about this pregnancy though and will be glad if only 1 foal comes out.

Thanks everyone, you've made me feel a lot calmer. That is very true about the weather, although I think I should let her know that it isn't going to improve anytime soon!
tongue.gif
lol.

I have seen the foal move round a little, although it has been no where near active as Rainbow was, although then it might move around a lot at night. Rainbow always moved around a lot mid-morning, lol. My mum and aunt saw the foal kicking last week though (i wasn't there) so they say
smirk.gif

Tia- hope all goes well with Golden! I'm sure she will have one healthy and stunning foal in there. You're as bad as me at panicking

.............but we just can't help it can we?! Remind me why do we do this to ourselves again

Hi there , sorry to hear about your frustrations with your foal. I am in exactley the same position so i know how it feels , My Mare is wait for it .. 4 weeks over due ! She is 370 days today and still no sign of our new little friend. This is hers and mine 1st time so its like the blind leading the blind .. yes i have read all the books scanned the internet watched the dvd,s .. infact when i think abobut it i am quite an expert now ( not) .
still doesn;t help , nothing helps its just awfull. I had my vet check her two weeks ago and he said everything was fine ..just have to wait so here i am still waiting . she has all the signs apart from the bagging up , there is a small bag there but nothing to write home about at all, and deff nothng coming out of it . she has looked ready to me for at least a month but she just doesnt want to let go !!
