Has anyone been to the Owners/Riders Cocktail party at Bramham??

I've got an invite but am a bit scared of going plus what on earth would I wear????

Any help, greatly GREATLY received! :o

I went about 25 years ago as an owner.

Not at all scary though just wore the LBD as per usual, take a shawl or something more fashionable to cover up too much flesh. Nothing too posh or fancy remember you are dealing with horsey folks.

Don't be scared, not many get to those levels - I was an owner not a rider but even so!

GO!

I haven't been to the cocktail party as such as that's in the house but they then move to what is the members tent for the 'after party' and that gets rather messy! That's basically for everyone though, the tradestands, owners, riders and a fair few locals who manage to go every year because they 'know people'. I used to go, up to a few years back with a friend of mine who sadly is no longer with us but certainly the after party is good fun! :D

I would go dressed smart/casual. I don't think it's very very smart unless the riders all change afterwards as certainly they're not all very smartly dressed later on. The Bramham lot are pretty down to earth so just go and enjoy!

Ive been before - I just wore a maxi dress and a cardi type thing and some sandals - had a lovely night and very nice steak from the bbq - enjoy!

Yes I have been, about 10 years ago and had a fab time! Pretty sure I wore a long summery dress and flat sandals but you see people wearing all sorts so don't worry too much and have a lovely time!

Not bramham, but I've been to some of the other 3 days as an owner.
I wore a nice tweed jacket, shirt and trousers. Quite smart, but not black tie smart.

If in doubt, email them and just confirm the dress code. Better than getting it wrong!

Make sure you go though, eventing people are very friendly and it will be great fun. And not nearly as scary as waving my horse off in the start box ;) :D
