Well done to Heidi who came 4th, only one to finish on dressage score. She is having a brilliant season and definitely making up for lasts year not existent season.
Heidi Woodhead was brilliant, really good SJ clear. Ditto for Melissa Shawcross who pulled right up to 3rd in the U25's with only clear SJ in that class.
Andrew Nicholson was the only person to fault at the 3rd fence, seemingly took a stride out and tipped up.
We saw Nick Gauntlett fall at the water and that was scary. Horse jumped v big over log and landed quite far down the slope, its balance seemed to carry its body right over his legs and he flipped right over and horse and rider slid right down the slope and into the water. Was v relieved indeed to see then both get up quickly, and horse walked away fairly sound though covered in chalky dirt and prob had some surface cuts.
Two of the U25's fell at a v innocuous rolltop which was a pity (just going a bit hard and the horses put in an extra stride and caught a leg).
Wouldn't have liked to be the fence judge at 2nd water though, having to decide whether riders had presented at the skinny barrell or were just jumping out to turn to jump the alternative.
Was a great weekend, and thankfully not as hot as last year.
Stayrd in a B&B with mother of one of the riders, and seemingly they all really liked the XC course and thought the ground was good.
