My OH and I have been to Bramham the last three years now and lovel it. Last year we bought members badges and enjoyed getting in out of the sun into the marquee and noted the fact that doggies could come in.

This year a lot seems to have changed. We have booked the tickets (including VIP area (same as members) for the Sat and Sun) but worried that the website stated that dogs wouldn't be allowed in the marquee area.

I emailed the box office as a bit worried that if dogs weren't allowed in the marquee because of food, and in the grandstand area (like at Badminton) the VIP tickets wouldn't be much use, had email back saying it was alright that dogs WERE allowed in VIP area.

Still slightly confused with conflicting info and don't want to be there on a v hot weekend with a dog who's not allowed inside any of the inside areas (and too hot to leave in car).

Any advice (perhaps from locals who have some knowledge of the set up for this year)

Sorry if that sounds confusing.

If teh email says you can take dogs in, print off that email and take it with you. If you have any trouble show them it! To be honest I am not convinced they know what the organisers are doing this year with regards to the layout. I am local and go every year and I think the idea of the 'grandstand' down the arena side (that used to just be open grassed with benches) is appalling and means the arena will be shut off to the 'normal' members of the public and, if you can't get into that new granstand (ie it's full) then you won't be able to see anything. Burghley and Badminton have a similar arena set up (all enclosed) and I think it's hideous.

I think the best thing about Bramham was always the much more relaxed, friendly atmosphere and I feel they are going to ruin it by segregating people now (can you tell I'm less than pleased abvout this!!

). However, that's an issue I am taking up with them but I just can see this whole 'VIP' bit going a bit t*ts up if they don't even know their own rules. take your dog, take your email and just enjoy it!

LadtT - I totally agree with all your comments. We started to go to Bramham after a number of trips to Badminton, and couldn't get over how relaxed and laid back it was in comparison. I like the open benches as well esp on the tradestands side, but am hoping that a raised grandstand on the other side (where the VIP dining used to be) will be a step forward (if doggie is allowed in obviously).
V good point to print out the email.
