Brands that you would recommend

I don't have much of it but Cottage Craft is an oldie but goldie, value wise. Woof products seem to have consistent quality for good value. All the top end brands of saddles (and bridles) are well made and things of beauty:). Fynalite stable equipment seems to last &work well (at our yard anyway.)

Its funny you say mark todd when there is a thread right now saying how bad it is. Guess it must be a bit of luck of the draw. Especially as the mark todd i have is actually quite good.

Premier Equine rugs. Still holding up to the worst of weathers. Any rug that can keep our grass liveries going all through winter gets my vote!

I second that.

The other brand I think has it right is nikwax, their washing and proofing products are good but their waterproof fabrics and clothing is AMAZING. Ethical too. If you want a coat that will keep you dry for years, can be chucked in the washing machine and comes with a lifetime guarantee and can be repaired if damaged check out Paramo.

I've been very pleased with all my Premiere Equine purchases.

I find Ariat patchy quality wise - have had to return two items for replacement.

I find if you want really good quality tack you sound avoid the big name brands and go for a good small producer, for example Kate Negus does wonderful bridlework.

lansdown and thermatex for rugs, jefferies for bridlework, rugged for breeches and griffin nuumed for numnahs - hunt out stuff still made in the uk. Yes, it will cost you, but it will last an awful lot longer.

Premier Equine + Thermatex + Bucas for rugs. Pikeur, Euro Star for breeches and clothing. Feedmark + Horse first for supplements, HKM for cheap and cheerful saddlepads, bandages etc

Premier Equine for rugs - since I've discovered them I won't buy anything else. Even my Olympic Rug Trasher has struggled to wreck them, and they fit my large shouldered PREs very well. Horses were completely dry underneath after the "end of the world" style downpour and hurricane-strength wind we had yesterday:D

For supplements online with great service I highly recommend Progressive Earth. UK produced, family business, individual customer service and a great product that does exactly what it says on the tin with no money wasted on fancy marketing and packaging.

I agree totally with this. They even delivered to me in Ireland for a very reasonable flat rate. Love them for being simple. Customer service is second to none.
