I have a dark beige colour that I like with my tweed, I did however buy some grey ones and I think for TOTM I may wear those if they are allowed now
Ooh I must look this up - i was disappointed grey wasn’t previously allowedIt's changed this year, 2024 BRC rules state "white, cream, beige, black, navy or any muted colour of breeches or jodhpurs may be worn", the 2023 rules didn't have the muted colour bit so grey wasn't previously allowed.
I've been riding in grey jods for a few years. Unaff but under BD rules. Nothing has ever been said.Yeah I’d much prefer grey to black or navy personally
I find some of the uniforms look a bit too blocky all in one colour. Outside of riding I wouldn't wear a black jumper with black trousers.
But a dark brown with a lighter brown tweed jacket or a mid grey with a dark jacket would look nice. I've got a grey blue tweed so a dark blue or blue grey would work..

Interesting portrait. Any idea who painted it and who the painter was? Thanks in advance.I have just gone down a massive equestrian portrait rabbit hole and I'm none the wiser.

Perfect Thankyou! I was struggling to find it on my phoneIt's page 92, CR Appendix 5A: Dress Guidlines. Personally I'd print out the page and carry a copy with me just in case others haven't caught on to the rule change.

Me too.I wear black with black all the time default setting is black jeans with a black top and black ankle boots
You have to be careful with black and navy or black and brown if they're too close. You also get different shades of black with some having a more blue tone or items that have faded differently.Me too.
I was told by someone years ago that you shouldn't wear black and navy together! Don't know if it's true.
I would love them to bring in this rule in France because I have huge thighs and am a dirt magnet - white is a real PITA! For the hunter jumping classes over here, you're actually not traditionally supposed to wear white breeches, and people compete in jodhs the same colour as their jackets or dark beige, for example.
Here's some photos of a local RC competition if it helps anyone with ideas:
