Still quite believe this has happened - but we are off to the Nationals!! (any tips grateful received!)

So yesterday we took part in our RC area qualifier, we were 2nd in the arena, judged by a judge that was harsh on us 2 weeks ago, so was already feeling defeated. We were on grass and he was feeling a bit glump so I let him have a blast before I asked him to work, seem to do the trick!

First test was our qualifier Novice 28, the ground was appalling had it not have been a RC team event I actually think I would have retired, but we battled on! It felt a fair test, not one of our best, but standerby comments were very welcomed as we left the arena. This same judge scored us low 60s the other week, so were weren't expecting great scores, I was hoping 63/66%

Didn't have time to check the scores as we were then into our second test, which funnily enough we entered as our warm up, (umm!!) little buggar nearly had me off spooking before we even went in the arena, thanks to the score collector running behind the judges car and a hedge row. I believe as the bell rang for us to begin I called him a little s**t and laughed at my mum. She could see the entertainment I was having. Our 2nd test was Novice 30, I don't know why but I really like this test. The first 3 movements I felt like he was about to explode, so rode rather quiet, thankfully he sorted himself out and produced some really nice work. Ground was better in this arena too. But again it was another judge that had marked us down previously, there were only five in the class, I was followed in my a flashy horse, so thought possibly 3rd. I was rather lucky not to be eliminated as we had to halt by the entrance for 4 seconds, the buggar tried his hardest to go out, but a few second battle and we eventually stood still.

I left the arena laughing, mum said it looked fun and games, I was pleased with it, but again it wasn't one of our bests.

So took him back to the lorry, he walked flat out, I think it's because last time we were at that venue was for a 2DE, so he thought he was off jumping *bad mummy!*

Cut a long story short"er" I wondered up to look at the scores and ended up in a fit of the giggles, I just couldn't believe my eyes, half the scores were up from the first test (the qualifier) and I was winning, with 70.83%! I was also winning the 2nd test with 66.92%! My sister had crossed paths with me on my way to the score and she started panicking that something was wrong as I just couldn't stop laughing.

Final 2 scores came in for the 2nd test, and I won on collectives!!

Half an hour had passed after the final rider and still 5 results to go and I was still leading. waited and waited for what seemed like forever and we'd done it we'd won with 70.83% so we're off to the Nationals in Lincoln!!

And this one because I love it, I think he looks like he's playing the After Eight Mint challenge

Thanks for reading!! Not one person at work has asked how my weekend was so needed to share it!! (None horsey office!)

Boo to the none horsey office, so a massive WELL DONE from me, those are fabulous scores!!!

No idea of nationals prep, but more of what you're doing seems sensible to me :), love your pictures.
