Well, a lady down the road called and said the stables doors were wide open and the dog out.
Tracy went down then called me.
Someone wrenched/forced the padlock on one door and removed the top padlock.
Suki was out the front, Molly had been shut out the back.
Office door wedged open (prob to get light as all the bulbs had gone out this week)
Can see nothing taken, thankfully.
Called the police who gave us a crime number and they then called a bit later to say they couldn't send any officers down. We were contemplating staying at the yard as we couldn't secure it.
However, we then went and got some hefty locks and padlocks and have just had them fitted so hopefully if the intruders come back they wont be able to do the same.

Maybe they got disturbed and were coming back? Don't know, but a warning to those in the Bucks area, thieves may be about.
It could be some t0sser who may have caused the problems this week.
Will try and find out. Ho hum.

Doh jane, it hasn't been a very good start to 2007 for you

Hopefully bad things really do come in 3's so that'll be it for a while:/ *hug*

Jeeez, the bad luck just doesn't end does it?!

I really hope that you have a change of luck soon Jane. xxx

everything that has happend (horses getting out, doors hanging off, break ins ) sounds like somone has got it in for you?????????? i think i would be more than paranoid

Yah. Must end soon!
Have bro-in-law fixing fences, friend fixing stables and horses all swapped over today. Hopefully will all be sorted today.
Got a joiner coming down sometime to see if he can help in anyway which is nice.
Have a feeling this was a malicious prank, by someone who used to help out. Can't prove it of course. I need to sort out some kind of cheap camera that will record, even if it is just inside.
Got a very high security padlock (which ironically won't work, got to go back to shop! lol, only us!) thank goodness for cc's!
Has cost me nigh on a hundred quid for locks etc.
Hopefully it isn't tack thieves just some little swine...coincidences happen but funny how a text message or two and things occuring happen at same time.

sorry to hear of your problems.I think you can get a cheap camera in Argos. It's only black and white but it would be all you need to prove who is doing this.I have been told you can get them for about £40 so it may be worth your while.

Jane, if you ask the police they will GIVE you cameras...honestly!! They gave us some. Ask them to come round and advise you on security and they may also fit lights etc aswell. Worth a try!

JJ go with Katy's electrified door option *snigger* and then video it when they do - not only have you got evidence but a fab giggle for everyone on youtube at the same time!

Huge hugs honey, you're one of the last people who deserve it. See if you can get cameras from the cops, surely them giving you cameras is easier than having to send people around. (However it is the police, often logic isnt their strong point

)

Big hugs and hope you get back on track soon x

So this is your second incident in a couple of days? It does then sound like vandals. I am afraid I would perhaps bed down in the tackroom armed with a rape alarm and a big dog...If they have been twice in as many days they will return again.
I know some people will say don't put yourself in danger but even filming them with a vdeo camera from a window should be enough to get the police to take action.
I ended up living in a small caravan at my yard for three years after getting sick of taking 20 sets of tack home every night. My landlady had no idea I was there overnight and I had bales of hay round as camouflage!
I took to keeping a GSD loose on the yard overnight and it was incredibly satisfying to hear a strangled"Help!" one night late on. The dog hadn't barked, just got hold of the bloke by the back of the thigh and wouldn't let him go..
The only problem was he was my car mechanic come with a spare part!
I hope the precautions you are taking stop the nonsense, it's hard enough making enough money to survive without this.
