I have a little lorry which is covered by my RAC membership, and when it broke down they were happy to come and fix it.....they were not happy to find 2 horses in it ! and said because they didn't have an animal transport licence they couldn't move it (fair enough) the repair man said I should take out their "trailer assist" to cover moving the horses if it happened again..............I tried, but seeing as the horses aren't in a trailer they won't cover them and want to sell me a lorry breakdown policy/thingy at 4 times the price, which I am a bit p'd off with as the lorry is already covered !

The problem you will have is if you are ever in a position that you need to be recovered you find they won't. Try looking for another company. Alot of the insurance companies do breakdown cover as well.

We use Anthony Evans Horsebox Insurance - http://www.horseboxinsurance.co.uk/ - for our lorry - and for a very reasonable price they include breakdown cover, which includes sending a replacement lorry to pick up your horses.
We have used them for a couple of years and haven't found anyone else that will beat them on the insurance or the break down cover.
